Flannel

My work "Life in Hell IV" is being featured in the new issue of Flannel, an arts zine published in Orono, ME. They were recently profiled in the Bangor Daily News. I did the drawing one afternoon last may in my notebook. The original drawing is in the zine, but I also digitally colored the image, which I produced into a four foot tall poster. My work has also been featured in the second issue of Flannel released in February 2009 including my drawing 'Life in Hell I'. Life in Hell is an ongoing series I work on from time to time featuring intricate pen drawings of hellish landscapes. I kind of think of it like what life would look like out your kitchen window if you lived in Hell.

Trey Anastasio Portrait

We've been working on doing Portraits in my Digital Illustration class so I chose Trey Anastasio of Phish. This is pretty much finished but I may add a few more details before I'm done.

Hungry Apple Final

This has been done for a while but I didn't get around to posting it. The assignment was we had to do an illustration relating to a specific word. Mine was Hungry so I decided it would be appropriate to turn the table on the The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Runaway Bride

This is the Final for my editorial project in Illustration. My article was about this crazy lady who ran away to Albuquerque before her wedding and told everyone she got abducted. I may make some more changes and repost this later.

Fables of Faubus

Heres a piece I did for my music appreciation class about the song Fables of Faubus by Charles Mingus. I spray painted the background and then went over with pen and ink and acrylic. The big head is Faubus. The song is protesting his decision to send out the national guard to prevent a little rock high school from desegregating in 1957.

Manchester Music Mill Comp

My next illustration project is an occupational portrait. I chose to do the owner of the Manchester Music Mill, mainly because I really felt like painting a bunch of guitars. Heres a digital color comp I did to get an idea for the finish which will be painted in oil 16x20. The portrait isnt exact on this comp either.

Only Blood Will Tell

I designed the album artwork for the Manchester, NH based Hardcore/Metal band Only Blood Will Tell. They just redid their myspace to feature the art so take a stop by and check it out.
