Nature

I had to get out of Manchester today so me and Jess Durant went to a state park. I tried to take photos but I accidentally exposed half the role. There's a reason I'm not a photography major. Luckily this drawing of Jess and her magnifying glass survived the trip. I was going to color it in but photoshop kept quitting on me and then I accidentally busted my wacom pen. I'm ordering a replacement but sadly I can't play in photoshop for probably a week. Technology doesn't like me today.

Down the Block

For My Graphic Novel Class we're going to start work on a 24 page comic. Mine is about going to be about a pair of down on their luck losers named Ricky and Stinkfoot (The two guys standing against the store on the right). To give you a short preview of the gripping narrative they get themselves in a heap of trouble and end up getting pursued by a pair of dimwitted bike cops trying to get a high profile arrest to get them off bike patrol. Before we started the story we did some characters designs which I'll probably post soon and this scene to put our characters into an environment. I'm setting my comic in the fine city of Manchester and you'll probably recognize this happening spot as Down the Block, home of cheap beer.

Orbit

Me and Jessica Durant did some collaging last night and this is what I came up with. I also spiced up the blog with some artists links to your right. Check em out. They're special people. Enjoy.

Modern Warfare 2

Here's a comic page I did a few weeks ago. I'm starting to get a theme with these. The Misadventures of Aaron. Enjoy.

Parade

My latest short comic strip is about something I'm sure we can all relate to. Those damn parades Manchester is so fond of! This was me last Sunday thanks to every marching band and firetruck in Manchester cranking it up to 11.

On a better thought I just bought my very own domain name. www.MindofMitchell.com which links to my website.

Ahmadinejad

This is my second senior studio piece, a portrait of Irans President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I played around with a few different concepts but ended up liking this propagandaish feel that portrays him as a sinister threatening individual. Feedback would be appreciated on this one as I still may make some edits to it.

New Mitch Thunder Song- October

Last night I got Netflix and ended up watching It Might Get Loud, the documentary about Jack White, Jimmy Page and The Edge meeting to discuss the electric guitar. It explores all their motivations behind playing guitar, how they got started, what kind of music and techniques they're passionate about and so on. It really inspired me and I had to record some new music so I came up with this mellow track to start October off. Its instrumental so I decided to just call it October.

Dumb and Dumber IN COLOR!

My Dumb and Dumber comic strip has now been enhanced with COLOR! I may make a few more corrections and possibly add shadows and lighting to it, but I wanted to post this step in the process.

In other news I have revamped my WEBSITE. I cleaned out and shrunk my portfolio down to 12 images related to my illustration style. I'm thinking about starting a flickr or some other secondary portfolio to house everything I've done, but I wanted the official site to be condensed down to the important stuff. I also made an artists resume to replace my press section. I still need to write a biography and artists statement since the site right now has no explanation as to who I am or what I do, but its got pretty pictures so I'll go from there.

Heres the Link again.
